Hi there,

Our latest flurry of features are here to make sticking to employment law easier than ever!

Maximum weekly hours is the perfect tool to prevent over-scheduling, block unwanted claiming of open shifts and fast-track your everyday planning.

What’s new

Your new, dynamic maximum weekly hours tool allows you to:

  • Add a separate figure for maximum weekly hours in an employees’ profile.
  • View maximum weekly hours for each employee on your Rotas page and will flag if you exceed this.
  • Adjust your settings and stop staff from claiming open shifts which push their weekly hours over their weekly max.

Why we built it

A thorough deep-dive into feedback and insights identified our customers frequently faced challenges of some staff picking up too many open shifts. This often led to team members working too many hours and breaking company rules or even employment laws.

Maximum weekly hours was designed to give managers peace of mind that their staff aren’t overworking or putting the business at risk. In addition to this, we always want to help save our customers valuable time by automating your tedious admin tasks.

How it works

Setting up maximum weekly hours is quick and simple - just head to an employee’s profile and add in your desired figure. This will then automatically flag up on your Rotas page to help keep you and your team on track.

You’ll also have an additional option on your settings page to prevent staff from claiming any open shifts that push them over their maximum weekly hours.

Check out our help article for a full how-to on this handy new feature.

A few quick notes

  • Maximum weekly hours is separate to weekly contracted hours. An employee can have both of these in their profile and they will both show on the Rotas page.
  • Total maximum weekly hours will show across all locations combined.
  • An employee can exceed their maximum weekly hours by swapping or covering a shift for another team member - this will still flag in red to show managers they have exceeded this figure.
